Saharawi Children Receive First Delivery of Prescription Glasses
Through its network of opticians in Spain, the Fundación Cione Ruta de la Luz has begun carrying out eye tests as part of the "Vacaciones en Paz” program this summer. The first prescription glasses have been delivered, free of charge, to all those who needed visual correction.
With this program, coordinated by the Saharawi Delegation in Spain, Saharawi children are hosted by Spanish families from different Autonomous Communities during the months of July and August. Their stay in Spain is also used as an opportunity to perform general health check-ups and correct any visual impairments, for example.
We are proud to be part of this project and to help provide the children in the program with free glasses to correct their visual problems.
Since 2005, Fundación Cione Ruta de la Luz, in collaboration with “Vacaciones en Paz” program has provided over 1,500 new glasses and performed around 2,500 visual check-ups.
